Although these slums could barely be called slums at all, they are still considered the wrong side of the tracks in an uptight city like Anuradha. No trash sits in these alleys. That would annoy the various gun-wielding owners. This area refuses to be patrolled by the city's police due to a large portion of the slums being made up of criminals or servants to said criminals. The Civilian Defense Force does patrol here for... some reason. Possibly because they're insane.
The population is mostly made up of dock workers and waste management employees, called grime workers by the upper class. Oddly enough they have decent wages, or at least live in large apartments run by people who don't pay many taxes. Despite this many of the buildings are quite old and a few have gone into disrepair.
Gang activity isn't as apparent here as it is in most other cities (probably because a large part is organized crime), but it's there. And it is common to see a CDF raid occur in the nastiest parts of the slums. Watch your back or it may get stabbed.
