New fortune is a booming mining town built around a small crater absolutely loaded with Lumium, an important element used to power the many massive war machines of the Mech armies, that was founded by the rich entrepreneur millionaire: Jared B. Straight.
At least it was until the Magi led a large assault on the town and burnt most of it to the ground and destroying most of the large, and very expensive, mining machinery. The attack was considered one of the most inhuman acts of the entire war, the entire population was massacred, save a few hundred out of tens of thousands, and raised to beef up the already powerful legions of undead soldiers under the command of the necromancers.
Most people avoid the horrible place which at night still glows with the never dying magical embers of the dead town, and rightly so. The spirits of the restless souls roam the decrepit town during the night and more then once a team of scientists and lost travelers have lost their life to the tortured souls of the unclaimed "soldiers" made up of the men, women, and children who once populated this once peaceful town.
Fighting is allowed, but watch your back when the sun goes down.
